Touching the newly introduced “Wonder Flower” triggers dramatic changes in the level’s gameplay—pipes might come to life, swarms of enemies could appear, or characters might transform into entirely different forms. Each level holds unique surprises and exciting elements for players to discover.
◆ Embark on an Adventure with Your Favorite Characters
In addition to Mario, Luigi, and Toad, the game features a total of 12 playable characters—the largest roster in the series—including Peach, Daisy, and Toadette. Playing as Yoshi or Nabbit means taking no damage, allowing even those less experienced with action games to play with confidence.
◆ Mario and friends transform into elephants
The all-new “Elephant Mario” power-up lets players utilize their massive size and long trunks to perform various actions while navigating levels. Also making their debut are “Bubble Mario” and “Drill Mario.” Mario and his friends will leap into action with a variety of forms, each boasting unique abilities!
◆ Expand your moveset with Badges
“Badges” earned during the adventure grant special effects that alter character performance and actions—such as gliding with your hat or shooting vines to cling to walls—allowing you to customize abilities based on level characteristics or personal preference.
◆ Play together
By sharing Joy-Con controllers, up to four people can play together, enjoying the adventure with various character combinations. When connected to the internet, players adventuring elsewhere in the world will appear as faint silhouettes within levels or on the world map. Even while in separate worlds, you can greet others, rescue them after a mishap, share items, and help each other out as you adventure together.
